Central Zone emerged victorious in the 2025 Duleep Trophy final, defeating South Zone by six wickets on the final day at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground (1) in Bengaluru. The win marked Central Zone’s seventh Duleep Trophy title, their first since 2014.

The match was a classic example of team balance, with Yash Rathod’s monumental 194 in the first innings laying the foundation. He was well supported by captain Rajat Patidar, who scored a fluent 101. With the batters ensuring a commanding first-innings total, it was the spin duo of Saransh Jain and Kumar Kartikeya that crafted South Zone’s batting collapse across both innings. The 2024 final, had seen India A clinch the title with a dominant 132-run victory over India C.

The 2025–26 Duleep Trophy was the 62nd edition of the prestigious tournament. It was played from August 28 to September 15, 2025. The marquee tournament featured six teams- Central Zone, East Zone, North Zone, North East Zone, South Zone, and West Zone.

It is important to mention that BCCI's shifted to the traditional zonal format this year, after experimenting with the India A, B, and C teams format in the previous editions.

With this win, the Central Zone now has 7 titles. The most successful teams in the Duleep Trophy are the West Zone (19 titles) and the North Zone (18 titles). South Zone, despite the loss, remains a strong force with 13 titles to their name. The tournament was started in 1961–62 and the winners of the first edition was West Zone.

Having said all this, in this article. let's take a look at the complete list of Duleep Trophy champions from 1961 to 2025.
