Cameron Green, Hazlewood Return As Australia Announce Test Squad For WI Tour

In a major announcement, Cricket Australia has unveiled a strong 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match Test series against the West Indies, scheduled to begin later this month. The three-Test series kicks off on June 25 in Bridgetown, Barbados, followed by the second Test in St George’s, Grenada from July 3. 

The concluding with the final match in Kingston, Jamaica from July 12. All three matches are set to begin at midnight AEST, except for the third Test, which starts at 1am AEST.

Talking about the squad Pat Cummins continues his tenure as Test captain, supported by seasoned campaigners Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Starc. Wicketkeeper Alex Carey retains his place in the red-ball setup, while Josh Inglis offers an alternative behind the stumps.

Emerging players like Sam Konstas and Brendan Doggett are included, showcasing Australia’s vision for the future. Beau Webster, known for his all-round versatility, earns a spot after a string of strong domestic performances. 

In a notable development, four players Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Matt Kuhnemann, and Cameron Green have been named in both the Test and T20I squads for the West Indies tour

Cameron Green Returns To Test Squad

It is important to mention that Cameron Green has been included in the test squad after a long time. He last played for Australia in the longest format in 2024 against New  Zealand. The Aussie all-rounder had been out of action since September with a stress fracture in his back has now made his way back to the Test squad.
