In a significant development, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have roped in Bharat Arun as their bowling coach ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League. Yesterday, the former Indian coach reportedly left the KKR camp, with the 2024 edition champions aiming to revamp their setup following a forgettable season.

LSG Adds Bharat Arun To Their Coaching Setup

Although KKR, LSG and Arun himself have yet to comment on the development, the former Indian coach has apparently penned a lucrative two-year deal with the Rishabh Pant-led side, confirmed Cricbuzz

Arun's inclusion in LSG's coaching setup means the Lucknow-based franchise will likely part ways with legendary fast bowler and their mentor, Zaheer Khan. Former Australian coach Justin Langer is also unlikely to receive a contract extension, with Sanjeev Goenka's franchise eyeing redemption in the 2026 season.

Bharat Arun's Coaching Credentials And Reason Behind Leaving KKR

Bharat Arun is hailed highly for his revolutionary coaching stint with the Indian team that saw India's emergence as a fast-bowling powerhouse. He groomed an exciting group of youngsters, including Jasprit Bumrah, into wicket-taking beasts, playing a significant role in the Virat Kohli-led side's extraordinary rise in Test cricket.

He has vast experience in cricket coaching, having mentored the India under-19 team and Tamil Nadu and Bengal's state teams at the domestic level, apart from India's senior men's team.

However, his stint with KKR was a mix of highs and lows, as the 2024-edition champions opted against having a number of decision-makers in their management. As the report claims, KKR are keen to persist with Dwayne Bravo and it was actually Arun who demanded his release from their setup for the sake of personal growth.
