Ravindra Jadeja has been one of the finest Test cricketers for India, and has played a big role in India's success in the last decade or so. He has also played as a lone-spinner in India's Test XI in SENA countries in the last few years and has done reasonably well both with the bat and ball. However, he could not find a place in the Indian playing XI during the opening Test in Perth, and he is likely to be sidelined for the second Test as well.

Why Ravindra Jadeja Will Miss The Second Test Against Australia?

In the first Test, India went with Washington Sundar as their only spinner and one of the main reasons for it was the presence of three left-handers in Australia's top seven. The same story is likely to continue as India might opt for an off-spinner and that puts Ravindra Jadeja out of contention with Sundar and Ashwin in the squad.

Also, Sundar has been a man in form and after his exploits against the Kiwis, the Indian team management seems to be convinced of his skills and ability to deliver at the international level. He bowled decently in the first Test and in the practice match while he has been reliable with the bat as well. In the second innings of the first Test, he scored crucial 29 runs while in the practice match, he scored unbeaten 42 while Jadeja could manage 27 runs.

Team Management's Trust Over Washington Sundar

Also, Jadeja's record in Australia is not great either with 14 wickets in six innings, and there are clear signs that the management is showing more trust on Washington Sundar as he bowled and batted earlier than Jadeja in the practice match.

So, in all likelihood, team India would stick with Washington Sundar for the second Test and the experienced duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin will miss out.
