The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has successfully concluded the finalization of the schedule and ticketing details for the upcoming World Cup 2023. The emergency meeting held on July 27 with all host associations has led to a comprehensive plan, with the likely shifting of the much-anticipated IND vs PAK game to October 14.

BCCI closes ticketing agenda

All the host associations were given the freedom to set the prices for their games and provide information on ticket allocation based on seating capacity. The member boards were given until July 31 to submit their plans, and the information is now ready to be passed on to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

According to the newly defined arrangement, the ICC and BCCI will each receive 300 free hospitality tickets for each game. The state must also furnish the ICC with 1295 tickets for league games and 1355 tickets for matches against India and the semifinals.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has underscored the careful planning, stating that the ticketing process, although delayed due to initial hurdles, will be managed seamlessly.

Ticket sales are set to commence on August 10 through two online giants, BookMyShow and Paytm. Each platform will be responsible for nearly half of the matches, ensuring a smooth experience for fans.

Notably, digital tickets will not be available, and fans will need physical copies to enter the stadiums. Multiple collection centers will be set up at all venues well ahead of match days to ensure fans' convenience and seamless.

All eyes are now on August 10, when the tickets go on sale, opening the doors to a tournament which has created immense excitement within the cricketing fraternity.
