BCCI Set To Meet IPL Owners In Middle Of Sri Lanka Series Ahead Of IPL 2025 Auction

Indian Premier League is the most high-profile T20 tournament in the world, and with the T20 World Cup done, the focus has once again shifted on the next season of the marquee league. 

There will be a mega auction ahead of IPL 2025, and so there are plenty of issues on the table, the meeting on which is all set to take place on 30th or 31st of July, according to a report from Cricbuzz.

The meeting is expected to take place at the BCCI office in Mumbai during the same time when India will be battling out with Sri Lanka in the ODI series. The meeting will include key issues like player retentions, Right to Match (RTM) card and salary cap of the franchise. There have been reports in the past that many franchises want eight retentions to maintain their brand value and loyalty of the towards the franchise.

On the other hand, some franchise wants to keep it on the lower side. According to Cricbuzz, BCCI have also been in talks with the franchises actively on various issues separately with IPL CEO Hemang Amin taking the lead.

Along with this issues, there are plenty of news floating around player transfers ahead of the mega auction, and one of the big one is KL Rahul's speculated move to RCB as captain in place of Faf du Plessis.
