2023 is a monumental year for Indian cricket, with the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup scheduled on home soil and the Asia Cup starting from this month's end.

India's preparation in ODIs has looked wanting, and several key issues remain unanswered. However, before the Asia Cup 2023, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah caught up with India's head coach in Florida, USA, during the T20I series against West Indies last week.

As per Cricbuzz, the meeting between the two lasted for around two hours, during which Dravid visited Shah outside the team hotel.

Shah, also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman, is on a private visit to the United States. While the exact details of the meeting are not known, it could revolve around India's preparation for the upcoming marquee tournaments.

Meanwhile, Dravid and the other support staff will regroup with the team on June 24 in Alur for a preparatory camp for the Asia Cup. Notably, India are yet to name their Asia Cup squad, as they are checking the fitness status of two key players- KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer.

If reports be believed, India's squad for the six-nation event will likely be announced after their first T20I against Ireland on August 18.
