In the latest development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to arrange a home ODI series in an already packed calendar that could be against one of Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

While the BCCI is yet to put pen to paper, the three-match series could take place in June, immediately after the World Test Championship Final.

"Discussions with various boards have taken place on this some time back but the outcome is still not known," Cricbuzz reported.

Moreover, it has also been learnt that the July-August tour of the West Indies will see India playing two additional T20Is, making the series a five-match affair. Although the authenticity of the development still cannot be confirmed.

"BCCI and CWI have a healthy bilateral relationship that is based on mutual respect and understanding of each other's needs and role in world cricket," Cricket West Indies president Ricky Skerritt told Cricbuzz.

As of now, the tour comprises two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.

"The schedule will be out soonest," Skerritt added.

Currently, most of the Indian players, along with their overseas counterparts, are busy preparing for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, starting on March 31.
