The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has inked a lucrative three-year sponsorship deal with fantasy sports gaming platform, Dream11. The board issue a press release which stated that the popular platform will now serve as the principal sponsor for the Indian cricket team.

"Dream11 will be seen on Team India jerseys starting from the Test series against the West Indies, the team's first assignment in the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle," said the press release.

Commenting on the partnership, BCCI President, Roger Binny, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to Dream11 and extended a warm welcome on board. He acknowledged the remarkable evolution of the BCCI-Dream11 partnership, which has transcended boundaries and prospered exponentially.

"I congratulate Dream11 and welcome them on board again. From being BCCI’s official sponsor to now being the lead sponsor, the BCCI-Dream11 partnership has grown from strength to strength," said Binny.

It is worth mentioning that Dream11's entrance as the lead sponsor necessitates a replacement on the Team India jersey, with Byju's, the edtech firm, making way after their jersey sponsorship agreement was prematurely terminated in March 2023.

Byju’s had entered into an extended sponsorship agreement with the BCCI in June 2022, valid until November 2023, for a substantial estimated sum of $35 million. However, the edtech firm surprisingly terminated the agreement in March 2023, leaving a void that Dream11 eagerly stepped in to fill.

Furthermore, the recent announcement of Adidas as the apparel sponsor for the Indian cricket team adds another layer of significance to the overall branding and support structure of the Indian team.

Dream11's past experience includes serving as a sponsor for the Indian Premier League (IPL), where they stepped in as the title sponsor for a one-year deal when Vivo temporarily withdrew from their IPL title sponsorship agreement.
