In a significant development, promising spinner Patrick Dooley is set to stay in the Hobart Hurricanes camp after signing a two-year contract extension with the club.

In his reaction, Dooley admitted to having learned a lot in the Hurricanes environment, expressing his excitement to rejoin the team for two more seasons.

Here's what Dooley stated

"It was such a great experience for me this season. It was such a great group of players and coaches to come into, and for someone like me who isn’t in the state system year-round, I learnt so much from being in the Hurricanes environment,

"It was pleasantly surprising to prove to myself more than anyone that my skills can make an impact consistently at this level, so I’m looking forward to getting my body right, working hard in the off-season, and I can’t wait to come back next year."

Dooley emerged as one of the rare shining lights for the Hurricanes in an otherwise abysmal BBL 12 campaign.

A unique bowling action coupled with wily variations fetched him 19 wickets, the most by a Hurricanes bowler in the tournament, at a surreal economy of 6.56.

More importantly, the 25-year-old recorded a spectacular four-for against the table-toppers Perth Scorchers, which grabbed a million eyeballs in the BBL fraternity.

Considering his incredible skillset, we expect him to reach greater heights and help the Hurricanes clinch the title in upcoming seasons.
