As the first leg of the SA20 2023 has come to its end, Paarl Royals head coach JP Duminy stated that it will offer a breathing space to the players after having indulged in rigorous action on the field for more than two weeks.

With the upcoming matches vital for the Royals, Duminy cited on pressing the refresh button.

Paarl go into the break after attaining two successive wins versus Pretoria Capitals and Sunrisers Eastern Cape respectively. While David Miller and Co. had a tough time early on in the tournament, these back-to-back victories have kept them in the hunt for the knockouts.

Here's what Duminy said:

"I think it is a nice enough break and what is important for us was putting in those big performances and taking confidence from our past two games.

"It has been a busy two-and-a-half weeks and the guys will have the opportunity to be off. I am also looking forward to it to press the refresh button and come back stronger, because it will be an important 11-12 days for us to go all the way."

SA20 2023 has been halted as South Africa and England battle it out in a three-match ODI series, starting from January 27. The competition will resume on February 2 with Paarl Royals restarting their campaign a day later against the Joburg Super Kings.
