In preparation for the fourth ODI at Centurion's SuperSport Park between South Africa and Australia, there are significant setbacks for South Africa. Skipper Temba Bavuma and speedster Anrich Nortje won't be available for the fourth ODI. While Bavuma's absence is limited to the fourth ODI, Nortje's injury will keep him out for the remainder of the series.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) reports that Bavuma is sidelined for the fourth ODI due to an adductor strain. Nortje is grappling with a lower back injury sustained earlier in the series.

In Bavuma's absence, Aiden Markram, the centurion from the previous ODI, will step up as the team's leader for the fourth one-day encounter.

The CSA's media release stated,

"Fast bowler Anrich Nortje (lower back injury) is ruled out of the remaining 2 matches of the Betway ODI series against Australia. ODI captain Temba Bavuma (adductor strain) is unavailable for the 4th ODI. Aiden Markram will lead the side."

In a do-or-die situation, the Proteas under Aiden Markram's leadership will take on Australia in the fourth ODI of this five-match series in Centurion on Friday (September 15).

Following two initial defeats, the Proteas made a resounding comeback in the previous fixture, securing a convincing 111-run victory. To keep their series hopes alive, they must secure another win, while Aussies will aim to win the game and clinch the series.
