Babar Azam surpasses Sarfaraz Ahmed, equals Virat Kohli's T20I captaincy record

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is the man of the hour after his crackling T20I hundred against England last evening in Karachi to help his side draw level in the seven-match series, with 5 games to go.

With this in mind, Azam surpassed former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed's record of 29 T20I wins and has drawn level with former India captain Virat Kohli's record of 30 T20I victories.

Azam's 30th win came in 49 games, while Sarfaraz's 29 came in 37 games. Kohli, who left India's captaincy after the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, secured 30 wins in 50 matches.

Overall, Azam has 30 wins, 14 losses , and five no-results since taking over as captain in 2019.

Former England captain Eoin Morgan leads the captaincy charts with 42 wins joint with Afghanistan's Asghar Stanikzai. 

India's two-time World Cup-winning captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni comes second with 41 wins, while current Australia skipper Aaron Finch and Indian skipper Rohit Sharma fall just behind Dhoni, with 36 and 31 wins, respectively.
