In a thrilling encounter at the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground in Dublin, Pakistan's cricket team captain Babar Azam achieved a significant milestone, tying with India's Virat Kohli for the most fifty-plus scores in men's T20 Internationals.

Despite Pakistan's narrow defeat to Ireland in the first T20I of the series, Babar's performance was a silver lining.

During Friday's match, the 29-year-old cricket star crafted a stellar 57 off 43 deliveries, including eight fours and a six, contributing significantly to Pakistan's competitive total of 182/6.

This innings marked Babar Azam's 38th score of fifty or more in T20Is, matching Kohli's record in just 108 innings. His knock was not only a testament to his consistent performance but also showcased his critical role in Pakistan's batting line up.

While Kohli boasts one hundred and 37 fifties in the format, Babar's record includes three centuries and 35 fifties. Remarkably, both players share a top score of 122 in T20Is, with Kohli's being not out.

Despite these achievements, Babar has yet to surpass the 4000 run milestone in T20Is, a feat Virat Kohli has already achieved with 4037 runs.

Ireland's successful chase, which culminated in a five-wicket win in the final over, has led the series 1-0. However, the focus remains on Babar's remarkable achievement, which will undoubtedly boost his confidence heading into the rest of the series.

With the second match of the series scheduled for May 12 at the same venue, Babar Azam and his team will be keen to even the score and showcase their ability to bounce back from setbacks.
