  • Aus Vs Sl 5th T20i Matthew Wades Late Surge Helps Australia Put 1546

AUS vs SL | 5th T20I | Matthew Wade's late surge helps Australia put 154/6

A late surge from wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade helped Australia put up 154/6 in 20 overs against Sri Lanka in the fifth T20I.

Batting first, the home side had a dismal start to the proceedings as they lost a couple of wickets early and were reduced to 12/2.

Later, Glenn Maxwell and Josh Inglis steadied the ship as the two batters stitched a stand of 43 runs for the third wicket. But Inglis' departure for 23 off 20 broke the shackles as Australia began to lose wickets at regular intervals.

It was Wade who held the fort at the other end and scored an unbeaten 43 off 27. Apart from him, Marcus Stoinis also chipped in with a 10-ball 17.

Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera picked up a couple of wickets each.
