India’s much-anticipated clash against Pakistan during the Asia Cup 2022 was all about Hardik Pandya. The experienced cricketer exhibited his all-round prowess to perfection, steering India to a thrilling five-wicket victory. 

The sensational performance by the 28-year-old has become the talking point in the cricket fraternity, with the former players and the fans lauding him with heartwarming messages.

Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi seemed highly impressed with the all-rounder. He took to his official Twitter handle to hail Pandya for his match-winning performance.

Notably, Pandya picked three priced scalps; Mohammad Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Khushdil Shah, while bowling at an economy rate of 6.2. 

He made his presence felt in the second innings as well, playing a blistering knock of 17-ball 33* and seizing the day for his team. 

While their batters flattened against India’s decorated pacers, the Pakistani bowlers were outstanding. However, their efforts couldn’t help Pakistan defend a paltry score of 147 runs. The Men in Green will face Hong Kong in their next fixture on September 2.
