With the announcement of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 itinerary done and dusted, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is gearing up to reveal the schedule for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will be played across Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

As per reports, the governing body is making last-minute changes to the schedule, pertaining to the key India-Pakistan clash. The ACC is currently chalking out plans with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), where the initial four matches will be held in Pakistan, with the remaining tournament shifting to Lanka.

The six-nation competition is to begin on August 31 and end on September 17, acting as perfect preparation for the CWC 2023.

According to Inside Sport, a BCCI official stated that Colombo might miss out on hosting any matches due to the arrival of the monsoon.

Here's what BCCI Official said

"There are some last-minute details to go over. The tentative schedule has been shared with the members. It should be out by this week. Colombo is an issue due to the monsoon season. We would have ideally hoped for the India vs Pakistan match in Colombo but rain could be an issue."

Sri Lanka are the current holder of the Asia Cup Trophy, having won the 2022 edition, beating Pakistan in the final in UAE.  Apart from Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal will also be involved in the 50-overs tournament.
