In what could be termed an unbelievable incident, young Pakistani seamer Naseem Shah belted star Afghan pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi for two consecutive sixes to seal the nail-biting encounter in Pakistan's favour last night in Sharjah.

Pakistan were down and out, needing 11 runs in the last over, with two proper bowlers batting in the middle. However, Naseem's twin sixes brought them a victory for the ages, securing their berth in the all-important final.

In the aftermath of his stunning cameo, Naseem revealed that his habit of toiling hard with the bat reaped the rewards for him in the game.

The 19-year-old pacer further stressed that he had expected Farooqi to go full against him and backed himself to hit the ball out of the park.

"I had the belief since I practiced hard in the nets. I exchanged my bat with Hasnain since my bat wasn’t a good one. I knew that bowlers would try to get in yorkers to me and thankfully, I connected."

Apart from being magnificent with the bat, Naseem was excellent with the ball, scalping one wicket for just 19 runs in his four overs. His all-round brilliance propelled Pakistan to the final, scheduled against Sri Lanka on September 11.
