Asia Cup 2022: Haris Rauf enjoying bowling partnership with Naseem Shah

Haris Rauf has expressed his delight to bowl alongside talented Naseem Shah in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022. 

The 19-year-old Shah has been a revelation for the Pakistan team since his debut. He came into this tournament with a five-wicket haul against the Netherlands, which helped Men in Green to secure a sensational victory. 

Shah then displayed his fighting spirit to take 2/27 against India in the tournament opener. He followed it up by figures of 2/7 against Hong Kong as well. On the other hand, Rauf has been wicket-less but possesses the ability to run down any batting line-up. 

Rauf thinks Shah makes the job easier for other bowlers, by keeping it tight with his express pace and proficient line-length. 

“Bowling partnerships are very important in this format of the game and I am really enjoying bowling with the young sensation Naseem Shah. Because of his searing pace, he keeps the opponents on the backfoot, which gives edge to the other bowlers.” said Rauf. 

Can Pakistan produce a fightback against India? 

The arch-rivals India and Pakistan will once again be against each other on Sunday (4 September) in Dubai. Both teams will be deploying a change in the combinations, as opposed to the last meeting. 

Pakistan will miss the services of Shahnawaz Dahani, while Ravindra Jadeja will not be available for the Men in Blue. The likes of Hasan Ali and Axar Patel are expected to be the respective replacements. 

The team winning this fixture will surely boost their hopes of qualifying for the Finals.
