Arshdeep Singh Shares Witty Post After 3 Batters Departed For A Duck In 1st T20I vs AUS

Cricket often presents moments of high drama, and the first T20 International of the five-match series against Australia at Vizag on Thursday was no exception. It was a day that witnessed a rare occurrence as three Indian batsmen, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravi Bishnoi, and Arshdeep Singh, were dismissed for ducks.

Arshdeep Singh turned T20I disappointment into humour on Instagram

The misfortunes of Gaikwad and Arshdeep were even more acute as they were dismissed for 'diamond ducks,' whereas Bishnoi got out for a 'golden duck’. The dismissals were a result of miscommunication between the Indian batters, but the agility and sharpness of the Australian fielders played a crucial role in turning these lapses into dismissals.

In the wake of this disappointing performance, Arshdeep Singh, known for his light-hearted and engaging social media presence, took to Instagram with a humorous response. Showcasing a sportsman's spirit, he posted a selfie with Gaikwad and Bishnoi, humorously marking their heads with emojis - diamond and duck for himself and Gaikwad, and a gold medal and duck for Bishnoi, indicating their scores in the game.

Amidst these individual disappointments, the match itself was a thriller that saw India clinch victory in the very last moments. The team, led by Suryakumar Yadav, who was captaining for the first time, secured a two-wicket win on the last delivery. Yadav's explosive 80 runs from just 42 balls anchored India's chase of a formidable 209-run target set by the Australians, a total bolstered by Josh Inglis' impressive maiden T20I century.

While Arshdeep and Bishnoi had tough outings with the ball, giving away 41 and 54 runs respectively, Bishnoi managed to claim a wicket. As the teams look ahead, the second T20I in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday, November 26, promises to be another exciting contest, with India aiming to build on their winning momentum and Australia looking to bounce back.
