Promising young batter Anika Learoyd has extended her stay in the Sydney Thunder camp ahead of the upcoming season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL 08). She batted on seven occasions for the Thunder last season, amassing 92 runs with a highest score of 34 against Hobart Hurricanes.

Here's what Learoyd said in her reaction

"I’m very excited to be back at Sydney Thunder. Last year wasn’t an ideal season for us. However, it was great to see young players have more opportunity and responsibility handed to them."

On the other hand, Coach Trevor Griffin said he looked forward to seeing Learoyd’s game continue to evolve this season.

"I’m delighted Anika is back on board with us, and I’m excited to see where her career goes. We all saw what she can do with the bat at the back end of the WBBL."
