Ireland Women's opening batter Amy Hunter is relishing her opportunities at the top of the order, and she is focused on giving her best shot to help her country secure a ticket for the T20 World Cup 2023.
Ireland women will need to win at least 5 games in order to book their ticket for the upcoming T20 World Cup in South Africa in February 2023.
The 8-team Qualifying tournament will get underway in the United Arab Emirates on September 18, 2022.
The Irish squad recently played two warm-up fixtures against Papua New Guinea, which they won comprehensively, with Hunter playing a crucial role in one of them.
The 16-year-old retired after scoring a brisk 37-ball 45, and she is aiming to do an encore in the main tournament.
Here's what Amy Hunter told Belfast Telegraph:
"My game plan is always to stay positive, take on the game and now I’m getting the chance to open,”
“I love batting with Gaby (Lewis). I feel like I’ve developed my power game and I’m starting to back it up with good performances.”
