The Adelaide Strikers have roped in all-rounder Meagan Dixon for the upcoming season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Dixon injured herself last season, which forced her out of the competition.

Dixon is a celebrated indoor cricketer and has represented Australia in the 2017 Indoor Cricket World Cup in Dubai.

Amazing to be back: Dixon

"It was amazing to be part of the squad last summer, even though I didn’t get a chance to take to the field. That’s only made me hungrier heading into this season. We have such a promising group of players and I’m really excited to see what we can achieve together this year.

Dixon, an impact player for us: Assistant Coach Jude Coleman

“Meagan’s a really competitive, driven individual that will always do what’s best for the team. She’s an impact player and can make her mark on a match quickly with the ball, bat or in the field. We’re delighted to have her back this season.”

Dixon has been awarded Queensland Lighting's Indoor Player of the Year on multiple occasions. The 24-year-old made his Women's National Cricket League (WNCL) debut in 2018 for Queensland Fire.

She helped her side win the WNCL trophy for the first time, blasting a quick-fire 23 off 12 against Victoria in the 2020-21 Final.

Adelaide Strikers will play their tournament opener against Sydney Sixers on October 15.
