Nayar Reunites With KKR After Team India Snub
Recently, the BCCI amended team India's coaching setup, removing Abhishek Nayar from the support staff. After witnessing an unexpected contract termination, Nayar was expected to be associated with an IPL franchise.
Amid the speculations, the legendary all-rounder has finally reunited with his former IPL franchise KKR mid-season during the tournament.
The southpaw, who served Mumbai cricket with distinction, was hired as India's assistant coach when Gautam Gambhir replaced Rahul Dravid as the head coach.
However, after India's disastrous tour of Australia, the BCCI conducted a review meeting where one of the senior members of the support staff accused Nayar of underperformance.
According to reports, Nayar had a fall-out with one of the support staff members and this prompted the BCCI to terminate his contract prematurely.
KKR's Performance In IPL 2025
