In a rather one-sided contest, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots outsmarted Saint Lucia Kings by three wickets in the fourth match of the ongoing The 6ixty 2022 at Warner Park on Friday, August 26.

Bowling first, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots ripped across Lucia Kings' batting line-up to restrict them to 66 for six in 8.4 overs. Later they hunted down the total in just six overs and boosted the team's NRR.

The 67-run chase was always going to be low-hanging fruit for St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and skipper Evin Lewis and Sherfane Rutherford made sure the team plucked it easily and pretty quickly.

While Lewis started the proceedings on a rousing note, scoring 22 runs from 15 balls, Rutherford gave the team the finishing touch by cracking 24 runs from just five deliveries with the help of four boundaries.

The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots finished with 72 runs in just six overs, claiming an easy win. For Lucia Kings, Jeavor Royal picked two wickets but he went on to leak runs at an economy of 18 in his two-over spell.

Saint Lucia Kings skittled out for 66

Putting to bat first, Saint Lucia Kings never really got the momentum as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and eventually folded up for 66 runs in 8.4 overs.

Opener Johnson Charles was the only batter who showed some fightback with 28 runs off 14 balls with the help of 2 fours and 3 sixes. Roshan Primus also chipped in with 12 runs.

However, except the duo, none of their batters could reach the double-digit mark, losing the contest by three wickets. For St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Jaden Carmichael was the pick of the bowlers.

The left-arm orthodox spinner scalped two wickets in his two-over spell and gave away just six runs. Jon-Russ Luke Jaggesar also claimed two wickets, however, he was a tad expensive in his two overs, conceding 28 runs.

It was the second consecutive loss for the Saint Lucia Kings while St Kitts & Nevis Patriots opened their winning account with this victory.
