3 Wickets In 1 Over! Will Pandya's SMAT Teammate Lukman Meriwala Play IPL 2025?

Lukman Meriwala has been around in domestic cricket for a long time and has been a consistent performer over the years. He has done well across formats and is currently playing for Baroda in the 2024 edition of SMAT 2024. 

He has been in good form and has picked 12 wickets in seven matches, three of those coming in a single over during an important Quarter Final match between Baroda and Bengal. His three wickets included top order batters like Karan Lal, Sudip Kumar Gharami and Writtick Chatterjee and has put Baroda in a strong position in all important Quarter Final.

Lukman Meriwala IPL Stats

The left-arm pacer has played one game in IPL as well and it was for Delhi Capitals who bought him for 20 Lakhs.. It was the 2021 edition and Lukman gave 32 runs in his three overs and picked one wicket against Punjab Kings. However, he did not get a game after that and will not play in IPL 2025 as well as he was not form a part of shortlisted players that appeared in auction.

So, despite a great T20 record where he has picked 106 wickets in 70 matches at an average of just 16.76 and economy of 7.17. His strike rate is also brilliant at 14 and has three five wickets in the format.

His performance in the current edition of SMAT might prompt IPL franchises to think about him and he could get a wild-card entry if any bowler gets injured in the competition.
