The 2023 World Cup is flowing like a fresh stream with plenty of exciting encounters. Game no. 23 will see South Africa square off against Bangladesh in the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The game will commence at 2:00 PM IST.

Bangladesh got a good start in the mega-event by a convincing victory against Afghanistan but failed to continue with the momentum. They incurred a hat-trick of losses and have only two points from four matches. They were without their regular captain, Shakib Al Hasan against India in their last battle; he is likely to be back in the side.

On the other hand, South Africa has been brilliant in the competition so far. They kicked off the bonanza event with some records, pelting Sri Lanka for 428 runs, the highest-ever in a World Cup. They won the game and followed it by trouncing the Aussies. However, the men in Green and Gold were drubbed by Netherlands for the second time in a year. They managed to thrust back with a mammoth win against England by a margin of 222 runs and find them at no.3 in the league table with six points from four matches.

It will be interesting to see how the Proteas form their XI against Bangladesh. So let us have a look at their predicted XI.

Openers: Reeza Hendricks and Quinton de Kock

In the absence of a regular skipper, Reeza Hendricks came into the scene and made a strong mark with the bat in hand. He got to know that he had to play just five minutes before the toss and went on to burst a knock of 85 runs off 75 balls. Hendricks should retain his spot at the top of the order provided Bavuma is yet to be match fit. Quinton de Kock is the constant and having a brilliant time with the bat in hand. He has already piled up two centuries and is the leading run-scorer for South Africa.

Middle Order- Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller

The South African middle order boasts of characters like Rassie van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. Rassie has found his form and has been a great positive for the Proteas side. After scoring a century against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener, he touched up with a half-century in their last game against England.

Heinrich Klaasen is in some beast mode at the moment. He has got four centuries in the past six months. He is fresh off a ton against England. Despite getting blows in the body, Klaasen managed to churn out a milestone. Earlier, he also scored a ton in the IPL, MLC and against Australia in a bilateral series.

Klaasen would be joined by David Miller at the lower middle order who strengthens their batting. Although Miller is not in the best of his form, it's a matter of time for the southpaw to bring out a match-winning score.

All-rounders: Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen and Keshav Maharaj

South Africa has a balanced unit where their all-rounders have been a thing of beauty. Aiden Markram has been fantastic with the bat in the middle order and also led the side in the absence of regular skipper, Bavuma. Markram also shattered the records for the fastest century in the Fifty Overs World Cup.

Marco Jansen has been stupendous for the Proteas. He was brilliant with the bowl earlier but showcased his batting prowess against England in the last game. Despite claiming eight wickets in four matches, Jansen stormed a knock of 75 runs off 42 balls against England that propelled the scoreboard to 399.

Keshav Maharaj has been their primary spinner and when needed the management included Tabraiz Shamsi. Maharaj is more than a handy batter lower down the order and can okay quickfire knocks. He has also been decent with the ball in hand.

Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Gerald Coetzee

On the surface of Wankhede, it's likely that South Africa will line-up with three proper pacers apart from Jansen. Lungi Ngidi and Kagiso Rabada have been top notch with the new ball inside the first powerplay and shall retain their position. Rabada is their leading wicket-taker in the ongoing tourney. The pace batter shall be boosted by the presence of Gerald Coetzee who claimed a three-fer in their last game. Coetzee has pace and is a brilliant bowler with the old ball.
