Wednesday's cricketing action promises to be intense as the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune gears up to host an exciting World Cup 2023 encounter between hosts India and a gritty Bangladesh side.

Led by captain Rohit Sharma, India has started the tournament on a high, clinching three consecutive wins against Australia, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. With top-order batsmen, including the likes of Rohit, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, firing on all cylinders, and a bowling line-up spearheaded by the ever-threatening Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav, India's form seems formidable.

Furthermore, the middle order of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer has also looked in great form so far but the lower order hasn’t been tested much. As a result, they can be up against a strong Bangladesh lineup which will definitely give them a run for their money.

Their challenge remains consistency in the batting department. With veterans like Litton Das, and Mushfiqur Rahim in their ranks, they possess the experience and skill to spring a surprise, but the onus will be on the top and middle order which has the likes of Tanid Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto etc. to deliver.

Given their current form and home advantage, India emerges as the clear favourite. However, cricket has time and again proven that game-day form often trumps past records, and Bangladesh, with its robust team, can be expected to put up a stiff challenge.

The Men in Blue will aim to continue their winning streak, whereas Bangladesh will be eager to pivot their campaign's direction with a win against the cricketing giants.
