After gruelling group stage matches, the Women's Asia Cup caravan moves towards the semi-finale, with India taking on Bangladesh in the day's first match at the Rangiri Dambulla Cricket Stadium.

IND Women

The unbeaten team of the tournament, Team India have been on a roll under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur. They started off the campaign with a win over Pakistan, and followed it up with convincing victories over UAE and Nepal.

In their last match against Nepal, the team management gave rest to skipper Harmanpreet, and stand-in captain, Smriti Mandhana sacrificed her opening spot to give other players a chance to have some match-practice. The batters look in top-notch form, and the experienced trio of Shafali Verma, Mandhana and Harmanpreet have created problems for the opposition skipper.

The bowling has looked sorted, with the likes of Pooja Vastrakar, Renuka Singh Thakur and Radha Yadav leading the charge. The team would love to continue the good work against a stubborn, yet exciting Bangladesh team.

BAN Women

The Bangladesh side finished below Sri Lanka in the group stage, having won two matches. They only lost against the Sri Lankan team, and will face a stern test against a superb Indian team in the semi-finals.

Murshida Khatun is a blessing in disguise for them, having scored 130 runs in just 2 innings, at an average of 65. She will hold the key once again as Bangladesh batter will be tested by the Indian bowlers.

They certainly start as the underdogs in the semis, but will be looking to cause an upset, especially with their spinners in good form.
