RCB opener Virat Kohli reached a significant milestone by accumulating 1000 runs against CSK during the IPL opener.

This achievement solidifies his status as one of the premier batters in the tournament's history. Kohli now stands as the second player to achieve this feat against CSK, following in the footsteps of Shikhar Dhawan.

In the IPL opener, Kohli, partnering with Faf du Plessis, kicked off the innings but was dismissed after scoring 21 runs off 20 balls, falling to Mustafizur Rahman's bowling.

Despite this, Kohli achieved a significant milestone by completing 1000 runs against CSK, adding to his previous feat of reaching the same milestone against Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, David Warner boasts 1000 runs against Punjab and Kolkata, while Rohit Sharma joins the elite list with 1000 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Kohli's achievement of surpassing 1000 runs against CSK is indeed remarkable, especially considering the latter's stature as one of the finest teams in the IPL.

Kohli's consistency and prowess in the tournament are evident from his spectacular record against most teams. Even with CSK missing out on two seasons, Kohli's performance against them highlights his ability to perform consistently and decisively in crucial matches.

RCB Struggles in middle after a promising start

Despite the promising start provided by Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli, RCB faced a sudden collapse as Mustafizur Rahman struck back with consecutive wickets.

Kohli adopted a cautious approach before being dismissed due to Rahane's stunning fielding effort.

However, it was Dinesh Karthik and Anuj Rawat who stepped up to rescue RCB, enabling them to set a challenging total. Anuj Rawat played one of the finest innings of his career to save RCB from further collapse.
