The Champions Trophy is back after eight years and after lot of deliberations and debates, the tournament is set to kickoff from 19th of February. The finalist of the last edition, India have now released their squad after making fans wait for a bit long than they expected and it is a team with a good blend of experience and youth.

Rohit Sharma will lead the side again, while the usual suspects like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja are all included. Mohammed Shami is also back in the ODI fold while the likes of Mohammed Siraj, Sanju Samson have missed out. The Men in Blue will start off their campaign against Bangladesh and will then go up against their arch-rivals Pakistan on 23rd February.

The clash is expected to garner plenty of attention with plenty of off-field issues surrounding the game and it would be interesting to see who comes out on top. India have dominated Pakistan in recent times and got the better of Men in Green in Asia Cup and 2023 World Cup. There are some Indian players who just love playing against Pakistan and bring out their best in the big game. So, let's now look at the three players who can help India beat Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025

1. Virat Kohli

The former Indian captain, Virat Kohli is a run-machine in the ODI format and has always delivered against Pakistan. In the 16 matches he has played against Pakistan, Virat Kohli has 678 runs at an average of 52.15 and strike-rate of over 100. He has three centuries and two fifties against them and all those hundreds have come in multination tournaments

So, Virat knows how to score runs in big tournaments in the most high-profile encounter and he could deliver once again in the Champions Trophy. The Indian star also has an average of 88.16 in 12 innings of Champions Trophy, and has the plenty of experience of playing against Pakistan star bowlers like Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf.

All these factors makes Virat Kohli a prime candidate to deliver against Pakistan and he is surely one of the Indian players to watch out against Pakistan.

2. Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is one of the finest white-ball allrounders in the world and has the ability to win games for his side single-handedly. Hardik is known for his power-hitting skills, but one of his most underrated and important quality is his temperament to deliver under pressure. He is the one who often steps up when the chips are down and has the game to soak the pressure and then accelerate at the right time.

In the seven ODI matches against Pakistan, Hardik Pandya has an average of 69.66 with a strike-rate of 132.27. It shows the kind of impact Hardik has made with his short but valuable knocks and one of his finest knocks against Pakistan came in the Champions Trophy 2017 final. He scored 76 off just 43 balls in that game when everyone else was struggling and when needed, Panda can find crucial breakthroughs with the ball as well.

It makes the lad from Gujarat a complete cricketer and one of India's biggest weapons against Pakistan in Champions Trophy.

3. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah arguably is the best bowler in the world currently across formats. There is hardly an off day for fast bowler and delivers almost everytime the country needs him. He has 149 wickets in 89 ODIs at an average of 23.55. He has not taken lot of wickets against Pakistan, but has been impactful and in the 2023 World Cup game, he was the pick of the bowlers as he gave away just 19 runs while bagging two wickets in his seven overs.

Also, Bumrah has eight wickets in just four ODIs in UAE, so he knows how to use the conditions to his advantage. He was outstanding in Australia and T20 World Cup 2024, and if bowls anything close to that, Pakistan batters are likely to struggle big time.
