On Sunday, Australia will cross swords against India in the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series. The high-voltage clash will be played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

Australia had a torrid start to the T20I series, incurring a two-wicket defeat in the first match in Visakhapatnam. Although a sensational ton from Josh Inglis powered them to a daunting 208-run total, they couldn't defend it, as Suryakumar Yadav's blistering fifty took India home.

Matthew Short was a huge disappointment for the Aussies, as he got out for 13 runs off Ravi Bishnoi's bowling. So, Australia might think of replacing him with Travis Head, who played a whirlwind knock in the all-important World Cup final against the same opposition.

Australia also rested Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa and David Warner in the first T20I following the World Cup. However, as this game holds significant importance, the Aussies will likely bring Maxwell and Zampa in place of Aaron Hardie and Tanveer Sangha, respectively.

While Hardie neither bowled nor batted in the first match, Sangha conceded 47 runs, picking two wickets in his four-over spell.

However, with Australia likely to give Steve Smith a long rope as a T20I opener, David Warner might continue to warm the bench.

Meanwhile, despite their underwhelming performance in the first game, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis will likely be retained in the playing XI.
