Zimbabwe (Source: AP Newsroom)
Zimbabwe bowed out of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 after losing 3 of their 5 matches in the Super 12s. They put up some impressive performances during the tournament, but also failed to keep the nerves during some crucial situations and hence the early eliminations.
Zimbabwe's journey in the tournament
Zimbabwe won two of their three matches in the qualification stage against Ireland and Scotland and made it to the next round. Their first match in the Super 12s against South Africa was abandoned due to rain. But in the very next match they handed over a surprising defeat to one of the Asian giants, Pakistan.
However, after Craig Ervine's team could not maintain the momentum of the win and lost a very close match against Bangladesh in the very next encounter. After this they failed to lift their game against Netherlands and India and were eliminated out of the tournament.
