The IPL 2025 mega auction is done and dusted, and most of the teams have assembled quality squads. Rajasthan Royals is one of the them and after retaining six Indian players at a heavy price, they came up with quite a smart strategy in the auction. They have a balanced squad full of match-winners and they are likely to entertain their fans in the upcoming season.
So, let's seen what would be their strongest XI for the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League
Sanju Samson And Yashasvi Jaiswal To Open For RR
Sanju Samson after his heroics at the top of the order in international cricket, is all set to open for Rajasthan Royals in the 2025 season. He recently smashed three centuries in the span of five T20I games, and so captain would like to lead from the front in the upcoming season. He has charismatic Yashasvi Jaiswal alongside him, who can take down bowling attacks with ease, and together they would form a lethal pair.
Dhruv Jurel, Riyan Parag And Nitish Rana To Form Strong Indian Middle Order Core
With Sanju Samson moving to the top of the order, Dhruv Jurel would bat at 3, which is a perfect position for him in T20 games. He has a great temperament and can switch the gears swiftly as well. The likes of Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana and Shimron Hetmyer, the finisher would follow him and all of them are quality batters with plenty of experience at their disposal. The right-left combination can also work in RR's favour and they look stronger in the middle order than previous season.
Sri Lankan Spin Duo To Replace Chahal-Ashwin
At number seven would be Wanindu Hasaranga. He is a quality leggie who has the ability to pick wickets in varied conditions and in pressure situations, and can be an x-factor for RR. He is a capable batter as well, so he can bat at seven and provide the balance to the side. Theekshana would be the other spinner in the XI, and both complement each other beautifully.
On the pace-bowling front, Jofra Archer is set to lead attack in absence of Trent Boult. They have Fazalhaq Farooqi as well, but he can play only when Archer is not in the XI or they decide to play only one overseas spinner. The Indian pace arsenal has the likes of Sandeep Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, Akash Madhwal to name a few and the first two are likely to get a nod in the initial games.
