The first T20I of the the three-match T20I series between South Africa and Pakistan at the Kingsmead, Durban turned out to be quite an interesting game. The home team won the game by 11 runs, but the pendulum swung from one team to another throughout the game, and the second match at Centurion promises to entertain fans again.
Pakistan were whitewashed by Australia in T20Is recently and though they won against Zimbabwe, the weakness in their T20 game was quite evident against South Africa. The loss could prompt some changes by Pakistan management, and let's see how their combination will look like in the second T20I.
Saim Ayub Can Replace Babar Azam As Opener
Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan opened the innings in first game and one of them, most probably the former can slip down to number 3. The former Pakistan skipper scored a duck in the first T20I and Saim Ayub at the top of the order can provide firepower in the batting line-up.
In the middle-order, Salman Ali Agha is likely to be included in the XI in place of Irfan Khan. Irfan has not done anything noteworthy despite consistent chances from Australia series with his highest score being 37. Salman Ali Agha is the vice-captain of the side, and though he has not been in good form he brings quality all-round skills to the table which can help Pakistan in the second game.
On the bowling front, things look sorted as Pakistan have three quality pacers in their ranks along with two spinners who are genuine wicket-takers. Pakistan's batting though lacks depth, and their batters would have to take more responsibility in the second game and show more intent.
