Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have been making the right moves in their quest for a third title in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The franchise will look to open their account on a positive note when they host SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Eden Gardens in the IPL 2024 clash on the double-header Saturday.
The focus will be on KKR captain Shreyas Iyer, who has been declared fit to play in their inaugural contest after recurring back problems.
Their top order will be bolstered with English wicketkeeper batter Phil Salt, who was roped in as a replacement for Jason Roy and displayed his prowess with a cracking knock of 78* in 41 deliveries in KKR's first practice match.
Meanwhile, rising Team India star Rinku Singh will continue to feature as the finisher, while Andre Russell will look to add more firepower to the batting line-up.
It is expected that his countryman and KKR's veteran mystery spinner, Sunil Narine, will act as a floater in the batting line-up.
Russell will also be key with the bowl as he will look to provide breakthroughs in the middle overs, while Narine will be eager to deceive the SRH batting line-up with his spin.
However, the home fans will expect IPL's most expensive pick, Mitchell Starc, to produce the best and rattle the SRH line-up early with his pace and movement.
