So far, things have not gone according to the plan for the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2O24.

The team is languishing at the 7th position in the points table, with two wins and three losses in the 5 matches they have played. GT are known for their consistency, but that has been rather invisible in the opening five matches for them.

Who can come in place of who?

The newly appointed captain, Shubman Gill has blown hot and cold and the absence of David Miller due to injury has hampered their playoff chances.

The team has lost matches from winning positions and that is a worrying signs for the GT team management.

Against Punjab Kings, they lost from a winning position, courtesy of an unexpected knock from Shashank Singh. In their last match against LSG, the bowlers did well, but the batters once again faltered in the chase.

Vijay Shankar, who looked promising last season, has failed to deliver the goods this season. For some reason, Abhinav Manohar is warming the bench, and the upcoming game against RR is the right time to unleash him. He can be the like to like replacement for Shankar.

Also, Kane Williamson hasn't done much in the chances he has received. GT bought Azmatullah Omarzai, but have failed to utilise his skills. Against RR, he can be a potent weapon, and that could 'potentially' see Williamson getting dropped.
