To the delight of cricket fans across the globe, India will be up against South Africa in eight international matches across formats on a tour starting next month. The tour, which begins with a three-match T20I series, will see both teams locking horns with each other in as many ODIs and two Test matches.
Even after several attempts, India are yet to register a Test series win in the Rainbow nation. So, as the discussion revolves around India's squad for the much-awaited tour, let's see which players could be picked for the red-ball leg.
With KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer set to return, India might. move on from Ajinkya Rahane, who managed only 11 runs on the Caribbean tour. Regular skipper Rohit Sharma will open the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, with Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rahul and Iyer forming the Indian middle order.
Swashbuckling batter Ishan Kishan will make it into the squad as the keeper-batter along with KS Bharat.
