Having already pocketed the series 3-0, England head to the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium for the fourth T20I, aiming to make it a perfect four-in-four. It’s been all about English dominance so far, and with the Windies struggling, the visitors look set to continue their momentum.
Ahead of the WI vs ENG 4th T20I, here’s a look at England’s Probable XI:
Will Jos Buttler Rest Jofra Archer?
Phil Salt and Will Jacks are expected to kick things off at the top. Though Salt couldn’t make an impact in the last game, he’s known for his aggressive starts, and England will want him firing. Jacks, too, has shown glimpses of his hitting power, so these two could give England the fiery start they’re looking for.
England’s skipper, Jos Buttler will take the No. 3 spot and anchore the innings while keeping the scoreboard ticking. Expect some firepower from him—his ability to play the game-changing shots when needed is what England counts on.
Liam Livingstone will follow, ready to bring his trademark big hits, especially against spin. Jacob Bethell, another young gun, might get more chances to prove his worth in the middle, adding depth and aggression to England's lineup.
With Sam Curran in the lineup, England has a handy asset who can contribute with both bat and ball. Curran’s finishing skills in tight chases were crucial in the last game, and he’ll be looking to repeat that magic. Dan Mousley, too, brings in the balance—he’s adaptable in both departments and has the skill to make a difference in crunch moments.
Jamie Overton and Saqib Mahmood were unstoppable in the last match, ripping through the Windies’ batting lineup. Overton’s 3/20 and Mahmood’s 3/17 were match-defining spells.
They’ll again be leading the charge, keeping the Windies on their toes from ball one. Jofra Archer adds even more speed to the mix, delivering those deadly yorkers and testing out the batsmen with pace.
With these three firing, England’s bowling looks formidable. However, Archer could be rested and in such a scenario, John Turner is likely to replace him and make his T20I debut. With the series already in the bag, England could think of giving the 23-year-old speedster a chance to show his potential.
In the spin department, Rehan Ahmed may not have claimed a wicket in the last game, but his variations and control make him valuable, especially on a pitch where spinners can have their moment.
England will likely continue with him and give him another chance to display his skills. And if the visitors decide to go ahead with a spin heavy attack, they can also throw in Adil Rashid in the mix in place of Archer.
