The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 is all set to begin in December and will conclude in January 2025. The tournament kicks off with the first set of matches on December 21, 2024. A total of 38 teams will compete in 135 matches across 20 venues in India, with Vadodara hosting the knockout stages starting from January 9, 2025.

Ahead of the tournament, let’s take a closer look at three Rajasthan Royals (RR) players to watch out for in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25.

Riyan Parag

Riyan Parag had a stellar IPL 2024 season, scoring 573 runs in 15 innings, including four half-centuries. The middle-order batter from Assam has been in red-hot form and showcased his skills during India’s T20I series against Bangladesh, scoring 49 runs in two innings.

In List A cricket, Parag has an impressive record with 1,735 runs in 45 innings, including five centuries and eight fifties. It is important to mention that with the ball, he has been impressive for the team India.

With his consistent performances, the 23-year-old batter is undoubtedly one of the players to keep an eye on in this season’s Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana playing for Uttar Pradesh in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024, is another exciting prospect. Although his performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 was quite underwhelming with 111 runs in nine innings, Rana’s flexibility to bat in the middle or top order adds depth to any lineup.  Also, his left-handed batting style is a bonus for the Rajasthan Royals, allowing captain Sanju Samson more flexibility with the batting order.

In List A, Rana has accumulated 2,264 runs in 72 innings, including three centuries and 14 fifties. So, his ability and experience make him a player to watch out for in the tournament.

Akash Madhwal

Akash Madhwal, an uncapped Indian bowler, was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹1.20 crore to strengthen their bowling attack. He is well-known for his accuracy and economical bowling, the right-arm fast bowler has taken 25 wickets in 22 List A matches with an economy rate of 5.14.

It is worth noting that Madhwal has a ability to deliver under pressure which makes him a promising bowler for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and in IPL.
