The rivalry between RCB and MI is one of the fiercest and most popular one in the IPL. There have been plenty of players who have played for both the franchises rather successfully. Also, there have been stories of a player doing better for the one franchise than the other.
During IPL 2025, we saw six swaps between the two teams. While three players who played for MI in IPL 2024 went to RCB during the auction, the reverse also holds true. So, here are three players who played for RCB in IPL 2024 but will be seen in MI colours during IPL 2025.

The Indian right-arm wrist spinner became a part of the RCB set up during ahead of IPL 2022. During his time in the team, Karn Sharma played in 17 matches and picked up 17 wickets in them at an average of 28.06 and an economy of 10.48. The leg-spinner did not have much impact as a bowler on the flat track of the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium and hence was released ahead of IPL 2025.
During the mega auction of IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians bought him for INR 50 Lakhs. With five-time champions needing a spinner for the middle-overs there are chances that he will get a chance in playing 12. He becomes one of the three players who was a part of RCB in the last edition of the tournament but will be seen in the MI bench during IPL 2025.
2. Reece Topley
The English pace bowler was bought for a price of INR 75 Lakhs by the Mumbai Indians during the IPL 2025 auction. Reece Topley became a part of the RCB team during the IPL 2023. His stint with RCB was plagued with injury during the first season and hence he could not be a part of lot of the games. In the second season too, he only got limited opportunities due to his inability to leave the desired impact. In the two seasons, Topley has played five matches for RCB and has picked up five wickets in them at an average of 36.40 and an economy of 10.71.
1. Will Jacks
Will Jacks was an integral part of the RCB team in IPL 2024. It was his batting effort that helped them script a dramatic turn around during the second half of the season. However, RCB decided to release him ahead of IPL 2025 auction and did not even use the RTM on him when he was sold for INR 5.25 Cr to Mumbai Indians. So, the English all-rounder who played for RCB in IPL 2024 will be seen donning the jersey of the Mumbai Indians in the next season.
