The Chennai Super Kings are all set to clash against their biggest competitor in the race to become the best team in IPL, Mumbai Indians, in the 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). This game will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on April 14th at 7:30 PM IST.

The Chennai Super Kings started the tournament well by winning their first two games. However, after that, they lost some momentum and suffered two defeats. The Ruturaj Gaiwad-led unit, however, returned to winning ways by defeating Kolkata Knight Riders in their last outing. CSK will now be hoping to win this game, collect two points, and earn their place back in the top three of the points table.

The Wankhede wicket will be good for the batters. Stroke players of the CSK batting line-up, like Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, and Shivam Dube, might enjoy this wicket. The Yellow Army will be looking to win this game and improve their numbers against MI at Wankhede.

Three Match Winner for CSK

Ajinkya Rahane

The Chennai Super Kings have used the veteran Indian batter differently, and it has paid off for them so far. Rahane was not used in the last game; however, his record against MI at Wankhede might induce the CSK management to promote him back to the number three spot.

In nine innings, Rahane has scored 342 runs against MI at an average of 44.4 and a strike rate of 140.90. These numbers are more than encouraging, making him a prime candidate as a match-winner for CSK.

Daryl Mitchell

Daryl Mitchell is playing his first complete season in the IPL, so there are only a few numbers to speak about. The Kiwi all-rounder has yet to fire for CSK in the tournament. But the last time Mitchell batted at the Wankhede, he scored a majestic 134 runs off 119 deliveries against India in the WC 2023 semi-final. Although that was an ODI, Mitchell will have confidence in playing in these conditions, which is essential for CSK.

Shivam Dube

This Indian middle-order batter is carrying significant momentum into this game. In IPL 2024, Dube has already scored 176 runs at a strike rate of 160.00. The biggest positive for CSK is that the runs have come for Shivam Dube in conditions where batting was not too easy. So, with the ball coming onto the bat on the Wankhede wicket, Dube could play a significant role for CSK.
