The Kolkata Knight Riders will play against the Punjab Kings in the 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). This match will be played at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on April 26th at 7:30 PM IST. 

The Kolkata Knight Riders have looked at a formidable side. All their departments have coordinated well, and it seems like a team to contend with in the tournament. The pitch at Eden Gardens has been good for batting so far. The 200 mark has been crossed six times in the eight innings played here. The batters have enjoyed playing their shots here and have gotten full value for them. So, another high-scoring clash can be expected between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings on a strip with genuine pace and bounce.

Sunil Narine

The West Indian all-rounder has been in brilliant form in IPL 2024. He has scored runs at the top and bowled economical spells, giving the team an advantage in most games. Narine has scored 286 runs in seven innings at a strike rate of 176.54 and has picked up nine wickets with an economy of 7.10. 

Besides the all-round form that Narine has displayed in the tournament, his numbers against PBKS are also more than decent. He has scored 180 runs against the Kings at a strike rate of 171.40 and has picked up 33 wickets in 24 matches. The reincarnated Sunil Narine, the batter and his ever-consistent impeccable bowling efficiency make him one of the potential match-winners for KKR in this game. 

Andre Rusell

The Jamaican beast has made the most of the opportunities that he has got in IPL 2024. Andre Russell has been in great rhythm with the bat and the ball. In this tournament, Russell has scored 155 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate of 184.52. He has been upto the mark with the ball, picking up nine wickets, and has bowled some very efficient spells in the death overs. 

While he has been in good all-round form, Russell's batting numbers are brilliant against Punjab Kings. In 12 innings, Russell has scored 408 runs at an average of 40.8 and a strike rate of 200. At the Eden Gardens, Russell has scored 167 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 214.10 while maintaining an average of 33.40. Thus, if he gets a chance with the bat, Russell might well turn out to be the game-changer for KKR.  

Varun Chakravarthy

The Indian mystery spinner has not been at the best of his forms in IPL 2024. Varun Chakravarthy has bowled a couple of good spells in the tournament, but his consistency has been a concern.

In the previous edition of the IPL, Chakravarthy bowled a game-changing spell against the Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens. He picked up three wickets for 26 runs in his four overs in that match. Varun will take confidence from these numbers and look to repeat his antics against the Kings in this game.
