The 12th match of the ongoing third season of International League T20 will be played between Gulf Giants and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on a Sunday night. In what is going to be a second double header day in a row of a six-team competition, both GG and ADKR will be playing matches on successive days.
Gulf Giants
Having failed to defend totals twice in as many matches this season, Giants are reeling at the bottom of the points table on the back of being the only team to have not won a single match at the time of writing this piece.
While they scored 174/7 against Sharjah Warriors, all they could manage against Desert Vipers was a substandard 119/9. Yet to come up with an all-round comprehensive performance worthy of fetching them two points, they have a lot of work to do before lacking behind too much.
Abu Dhabi Knight Riders
Knight Riders, on the contrary, are better placed at the fourth position after winning one and losing two out of their first three matches. In addition to just losing their latest encounter, a 53-run loss has also dented their NRR (Net Run Rate).
Having played twice and once respectively in Dubai this season thus far, readers must note that both Gulf and Abu Dhabi are yet to register a victory at this stadium.

Dubai International Cricket Stadium: Is It Batting Or Bowling Friendly?
Pitches at the DICS have been a mixed bag this season till now. Across five matches, an average innings total of 150.7 signifies how neither batters nor bowlers have been allowed to dictate terms. With plenty on offer for both the skills, no particular facet will start advantageous.
With the average innings total in 92 result-oriented Dubai T20Is slightly lower at 146.2, it is to be noted that teams batting first and second have emerge victorious 45 and 47 times respectively. With chasing teams winning three out of five ILT20 2025 matches thus far, nothing much has changed this season.
Players To Watch Out For At Dubai International Cricket Stadium
James Vince
Having hit two half-centuries and a century in his last six T20 innings, Giants captain James Vince not only has form on his side but has also been comparatively consistent at this ground on the back of three 50+ individual scores across 20 innings.
Sunil Narine
Vince’s counterpart, Knight Riders captain Sunil Narine, is the joint ninth-highest wicket-taker in Dubai T20s. Been playing here since 2014, the mystery spinner has picked 24 wickets in as many matches at an average of 25.87, an economy rate of 6.53 and a strike rate of 23.7.
Andre Russell
Veteran ADKR all-rounder Andre Russell’s strike rate of 158.16 is the seventh-highest in this format here (min. 100 runs). More than a handy option with the ball in hand, the right-arm bowler has dismissed 17 batters in as many matches at an average and strike rate of 22.11 and 14.5 respectively at this venue.
