After weeks of speculation and anticipation, the much-awaited IPL 2026 mini-auction concluded on Tuesday evening in Abu Dhabi. 369 players were list out of which 156 went under the hammer, but only 77 slots were filled, with 79 stars going unsold.

Cameron Green, as expected, banked the most amount and scripted history by becoming the most-expensive overseas buy in IPL history with a ₹25.20 crore contract with KKR.  Similarly, five players breached the 10 crore mark and took home a big bag full of cash.

On the other hand, a handful of quality players also went at a bargain price, and this article will shed light on the five smartest buys of the entire IPL auction, who went for a lesser amount than actually expected.

Best Bargain Buys at IPL auction 2026

1. David Miller

  • Price: 2 crores
  • Team: Delhi Capitals

The first bargain buy of the auction was Proteas powerhouse David Miller. Delhi Capitals roped in the southpaw at his base price of 2 crores. Notably, the 36-year-old had an underwhelming IPL 2025 compared to his standards with Lucknow Super Giants, where he scored just 153 runs in 11 innings, averaging 30.60, prompting the Giants to release him.

Miller was placed in set 1 and was expected to fetch around 4-5 crores, but to everyone's surprise, the South African talent only bagged 2 crores. It is a bargain buy given his past heroics in the league, and his numbers are too great to be ignored for a turnaround.

2. Ben Duckett

  • Price: 2 crores
  • Team: Delhi Capitals

Similar to David Miller, Ben Duckett too was also roped in by Delhi Capitals at 2 crores. The left-handed batter is known for his explosive batting at the top and is among the runs across formats.

Duckett's last T20I series came against West Indies, where he averaged 38.33 and amassed 115 runs in three innings, which included two 30+ scores.

3.  Ashok Sharma

  • Price: 90 Lakhs
  • Team: Gujarat Titans

The IPL 2026 mini-auction will go into the history books for uncapped players. The recently concluded event saw teams go after uncapped stars, who recently shone in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The likes of Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer bagged 14+ crore contracts.

Auqib Dar too bagged a 8.20 crores contract with Delhi Capitals for his recent heroics. Amid this, Ashok Sharma going for 90 lakhs is certainly a steal buy for Gujarat Titans. The 23-year-old youngster has taken 22 wickets in 10 innings, in SMAT and is clocking 150 kmph in the nets.

4. Tim Seifert

  • Price: 1.5 Crores
  • Team: Kolkata Knight Riders

Tim Seifert is having a year to remember. The 31-year-old will return to IPL after four years. He last made an appearance in IPL 2022 and was called up by RCB as a late replacement in IPL 2025. However, since then, the right-handed batter has been in superb form and to go for just 1.5 crores is actually a bargain.

Talking about his year in numbers, Seifert has scored 559 runs in 14 innings, averaging 50.8 with a strike-rate of 164.4.

5. Wanindu Hasaranga

  • Price: 2 Crores
  • Team: Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants availed Sri Lanka star spinner Wanindu Hasaranga's services at his base price of 2 crores. The 28-year-old had played 11 matches in IPL 2025 for Rajasthan Royals and picked up 11 wickets in 11 innings, with an economy of 9.05.

However, the right-arm leg-spinner has done well for the national team recently and picked up seven wickets in 5 games vs Pakistan. He also had a good Asia Cup 2025 and took 8 scalps in six innings. Thus, getting Wanindu Hasaranga for 2 crores was a steal buy.
