The Chennai Super Kings are always known for the players they buy during the auctions. The general approach of the management is to go for budget picks and buy players that would perfectly suit particular roles in their side.

CSK seemed to have done the same in the IPL 2025 auction. While there have been quite a few budget picks for them, the best investment appears to be the ₹10 Cr on Noor Ahmad. The young Afghan left-arm spinner has brought a smile to the face of the CSK management with his brilliant show in the SA20 2025.

Here are three reasons why the ₹10 Cr investment from CSK is well justified. 

3. Noor Ahmad Bringing About Dynamism In The Bowling Attack

CSK have a left-arm orthodox spinner in Ravindra Jadeja and a conventional off-spinner in Ravichandran Ashwin. Noor Ahmad adds a very different flavour to CSK's spin department. First, he is a wrist spinner different from the other two; second, he is a left-arm wrist spinner, which is still rare in the game. The batters of the other teams will have to adjust to his bowling style and rhythm differently after facing Ashwin and Jadeja. This will cause trouble for the batters, putting CSK in an advantageous position.

2. Adding Depth To CSK's Bowling

Ravichandran Ashwin could be CSK's trump card in the powerplays. On the other hand, Ravindra Jadeja could be their game-changer in the middle overs.
