We're heading to the business end of the ongoing 2023 Asia Cup and the final match of the Super Fours will see Bangladesh lock horns with India at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. The match is slated to begin at 3:00 PM IST, Local Time on September 15.

The Men in Blue are having a great outing in the Asian Championship so far. After a stalemate in their tournament opener against Pakistan, the Rohit Sharma-led unit went on to thrash Nepal with a 10 wickets victory. It was followed by two back-to-back victories against arch-rivals Pakistan and Sri Lanka. They had to play three consecutive days as the game against Pakistan moved to the reserve day yet managed to continue their victory run. With four points in their bag, the Indian side have already cemented a spot in the Final of the Continental championship.

On the other hand, Bangladesh have had a disappointing time in the coveted tournament, managing to win just one game so far. They lost to Sri Lanka in their opening game but bounced back against Afghanistan on the back of Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz's tons. This helped them secure a place in the Super Fours. Moving on, they were thrashed by Pakistan and Sri Lanka and now finds them out of contention in the tournament. With no further chance of making the cut to the final, let us have a look at the playing combination that the Tigers may opt against India.

Openers- Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Anamul Haque

Bangladesh have nothing to lose now and could tinker their playing XI in this upcoming contest. Mehidy Hasan Miraz is likely to remain at the top after a fabulous century earlier against Afghanistan in a must-win game. Meanwhile, Anamul Haque who was roped in as a replacement of Litton Das earlier, could make it to the opening position replacing Mohammad Naim.

Middle Order: Litton Das, Towhid Hridoy and Afif Hossain

Litton has been a bit off-coloured in the tournament but should retain his spot due to the calibre he possess. Towhid Hridoy has turned out to be the crisis man for Bangladesh in recent times and therefore he should make the cut. Moreover, he also notched up a brilliant half-century against Sri Lanka in their recent match. Hridoy is likely to get the support of Afif Hossain in this game as Mushfiqur Rahim will be returning back home to spend time with his wife and new born daughter.

All-rounders: Shakib Al Hasan and Shamim Hossain Patwari

Shakib Al Hasan, the skipper will be retaining his spot and should lead the side in the final game of Asia Cup for Bangladesh. The management is also likely to retain Shamim Hossain due to the potent he carries. It would be a great opportunity for the all-rounder to showcase his talent against the Asian Giants, India.

Bowlers: Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud

With a lot of matches being played at the same venue, it won't be a shocker to see Bangladesh Tigers opt for Nasum Ahmed as the third spinner. Accompanying him should be Taskin Ahmed leading the pace battery. Hasan Mahmud was brilliant with the new ball against Sri Lanka and should continue to feature in the playing XI. While Bangladesh may also look to bring back the experienced Mutafizur Rahman instead of Shoriful Islam.
