The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season is just around the corner and while the teams like RCB, CSK and MI have hogged all the limelight, there is another side which cannot be taken lightly after what they did last season - Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) led by Pat Cummins.

The team already had a stellar batting lineup and they made it more strong by investing in hard-hitting players and one of them was Ishan Kishan. The former MI batter has been lost in the shuffle, but SRH gave him a chance to kick-start his journey and he started with big scores in the Intra-Squad game on Saturday.

When on song, he is equally or perhaps more dangerous than Abhishek Sharma and here are key reasons why he could outscore Abhishek in the upcoming IPL 2025.

The Hyderabad batting conditions will suit him

The Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad will have flat batting tracks, just like last season and this would suit Ishan Kishan's style of play. He previously played at the Wankhede Stadium for Mumbai Indians and had a stellar strike-rate, so, expect something on the similar lines when Kishan will play at the Uppal.

Unlike Abhishek, Ishan Kishan has a method to his madness and it was witnessed in the intra-squad match where Abhishek went for blind slogging and was dismissed for 28, while Kishan played with caution and yet managed to score 64 off 23 balls.

He has a point to prove after India snub

Abhishek has already secured his place in the India T20I side and is a first choice opener. However, that is not the case with Ishan Kishan as the batter was left out of the team last season and his central contract was also taken away. It has been over one year since Kishan last played for India and he will be more hungrier than ever to perform at the best level.

Abhishek might relax a bit as he already has established himself in the shortest format of the game, and meanwhile, Kishan will be eager to prove his worth once again as he eyes an India comeback.

Could bat at his favourite number 4 spot

Ishan Kishan's best IPL season was the 2020 one, when the youngster batted at number 4 position and smacked 516 runs in 14 matches as Mumbai Indians won the trophy. With Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma opening, SRH could have Nitish Kumar Reddy at 3, and that would mean Kishan could bat at his favourite spot.

The openers are generally vulnerable against new ball bowlers, and by the time Kishan will come in at number 4, the ball would have gotten old and his job would have been a touch easier.
