The Indian team toook on Australia in the third Test of the Gabba in Brisbane. The match has been announced as a draw after play was halted on the final due to bad light.

During the pause in the game, Kohli and Ashwin shared a moment, which went immediatley viral on the internet. The two players were hugging each other and Ashwin was seen wiping off his tears. It turned out that Ravichandran Ashwin informed Kohli of his retirment decision at that moment.

However, if soon Virat Kohli retires, here are three batters who can replace him in the Indian batting line-up in the purest format of the game.

3 Players Who Can Replace Virat Kohli

1. Ruturaj Gaikwad

The current CSK skipper is one of the biggest prospets as far as Indian batting is concerned. Not only in the T20 format, Gaikwad has proven himself in all the formats of the game. Gaikwad has shown that he has a brilliant technique and a great temperament. The number four position in Test cricket is very important. Every team demands a player of great character and temeperament at this position. The way Gaikwad has performed in the domestic arena, he could be a great replacement of Kohli.

2. Abhimanyu Easwaran

Abhimanyu Easwaran has grabbed a lot of attention with his performances in the first class matches. Easwaran has shown the he can bat long hours and do it on a consistent basis. He has opened his entire life and if he can adjust his game to bat in the middle order, he can turn out to be one of the biggest assets for the team.

3. Rajat Patidar

Rajat Patidar is another name who is giving consistent performances and rising up the ranks in the eyes of the Indian selectors. He has already made his debut in Test, but did not perform that well. However, he has shown the temperament to bat under pressure and with a little bit of grooming at the highest level could be a very important part of the team.
