Virat Kohli's recent innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the ongoing IPL season showcased his mastery yet again, scoring an unbeaten 113 runs from 72 balls.

Despite the loss, Kohli's performance was exceptional, guiding RCB to a formidable total of 183 runs. His coach, Rajkumar Sharma, has vehemently defended Kohli against critics of his strike rate.

Sharma expressed frustration with those targeting Virat Kohli, dismissing their remarks as baseless. He emphasized that Kohli often faces unwarranted criticism due to his fame, with some seeking attention through negative commentary.

"Some people who are saying this nonsense, I think they don't know the context of the match, what the situation of the match was and how the team was struggling," he said.

"They speak only to be in the news. Just because whenever you speak about a normal player, it does not bring you in the news headlines, but if you speak about a player like Virat Kohli, it brings you in the news headlines," he further added.

While Kohli leads the race for the Orange Cap in IPL 2024, RCB's struggles continue, despite his sublime form. The team's inability to secure wins has led to scrutiny of Kohli's strike rate, especially after his slower century against RR.
